Erik Johnson
Having spent his childhood around family members with a variety of aristic talents, Erik Johnson explored several passions, including cartoon illustration and animation, before arriving at a full time career in fine art painting.
Though self-taught, his art is skillful and striking. Erik’s works always begin with an idea, as he creates a composition wherein he seeks to use common objects to address contemporary issues in a thought-provoking and poetic manner. Eric currently lives, paints, and teaches painting workshops in Charleston, South Carolina.
Today, Erik came by two drop off his works for the show including the one below, entitled “Beacon”:
Shane Wolf
Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Shane Wolf began his career in art in the field of graphic design, completing his degree at the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning. After working in France as a graphic designer, Shane embarked on a backpacking trip around the world and rekindled a passion for drawing. He went on to study at the renowned Angel Academy of Art in Florence, later becoming a professor of drawing and painting there. He has earned numerous honors during his career as a painter, including such prestigious awards as the Prix Taylor (”Taylor Prize”) in 2011 at the Grand Palais and the Gold Medal in 2012 at the Salon du Val du Cher. Hailed as a contemporary Master in the art of drawing and painting the figure, Shane currently lives and paints in Paris, France. Below is one of three of Shane’s works from the show, called “Tempest”.
