Julie Rotblatt Amrany
Physics and astronomy inspire Julie Rotblatt Amrany’s artwork. As an artist, she creates mostly from an intuitive place while scientists’ work is of an empirical nature. She would like to be part of the link that bridges the gap between art and science. On this path Amrany observes the micro and the macro universe, two sides of a natural polarity that together comprise a unified whole.
Since infinite space surrounds us, Amrany is intrigued by the concept of ambiguous spaces, such as space within space, suggestive of multidimensional space, and interstitial space, the space between matter.
Energy and space make up our universe. In her current work, Amrany uses drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, video, multi-media and installation as her forms of expression. Sometimes the work demands that she include the figure other times it does not. Amrany hopes to always explore space in all its dimensions and wonders; it is a limitless investigation.
